Every day for ten years, I have been driving from Namur toward the Famenne region, where I work, travelling in the opposite direction of most commuters; from city to countryside, and back again.

This comes with its own host of advantages, including the absence of traffic jams and being able to look upon some of the nicest landscapes of Belgium under many kinds of light across all seasons.

Along the way, I often take small detours. Moments of freedom inside a routine, making the buffer between work and more that more enjoyable. 

 

The images I gathered over the course of the years have begun gaining a coherence only time and repetition can give. Here you'll find some photographic odds and ends that once seen together create something bigger.
